Community Development: Tackling Inequalities

The theme of the conference is Community Development and Tackling Inequalities. The Conference will explore both the challenges and opportunities in tackling inequalities and promoting social justice through empowering communities. There will be exploration of community development responses including community action, community-led project delivery, and collaborative action across sectors which addresses the root causes of inequality and barriers to community participation.

The conference will take place on Tuesday 10th September, 10:30am – 3:30pm, Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue

The community empowerment agenda is intended to reduce inequality and promote social justice – but what does this mean in practice? How does community development practice tackle inequalities in our communities?

Keynote Speaker: Aileen Campbell, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, Scottish Government.
